Your Labor and Delivery

  • Childbirth and infant care classes – Our childbirth classes can help you understand your options for labor techniques and anesthesia so that your delivery follows your needs and specifications. You might also utilize our infant care classes and breastfeeding consults to gain the confidence you need to provide your child with the very best care at home.
  • Private LDR suites – With seven Labor-Delivery-Recovery suites in our Maternity Unit, moms can relax and get comfortable during the labor and delivery process. These suites are fully equipped with advanced monitoring systems and treatment technologies, and they have easy access to surgical suites should the need for cesarean section arise.
  • Level I Nursery – Once your baby is born, he or she will get the special care needed to establish good health in our Level I Nursery. Moms will receive the care they need in our Postpartum Unit, and they will be able to visit the nursery around-the-clock to begin forming the important bond between mother and child.
  • Level II NICU – If babies are born prematurely or are suffering from critical illnesses, they will receive care in the only level II NICU in St. Lucie County. This 10-bed unit is staffed with a board-certified neonatologist along with a team of registered nurses and respiratory therapists trained in neonatal resuscitation.

Your Child’s Pediatric Care

Once your child is born, care may continue with the pediatric care offered at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center. Our pediatric unit is specially designed for kids with child-friendly décor and play areas to create a welcoming atmosphere for our youngest patients.
